Introduction
Beacham & Company is a real estate company that specializes in Atlanta's most affluent areas. Founded in 2006, they have earned a reputation for being one of Atlanta's premier real estate companies.
Challenge
Recently we were charged with taking the property search functionality from the Beacham & Company website and creating a mobile version that could be viewed easily on phones and other hand-held devices. The client wanted to keep the core functions of the site intact while making the site load quickly and display critical information attractively on small screens.
Solution
Our goal was to take the existing property search technology on the Beacham & Company website and scale it down into a version that was leaner and easier to navigate on smart phones, PDAs and other hand held devices. Since mobile devices generally have a slower connection to the Internet and a significantly smaller viewing area, it was important to only display the information relevant to someone who is on the go, or even on the way to an open house. Choosing which information to display and how to display it is crucial when managing the limited space on hand-held devices' displays.
Results
Our development team took the core search engine behind Beacham.com and created quick links to search for properties by city, street address, or MLS number. We also created a mobile version of their agent roster and other contact information about the company. The new mobile version of Beacham.com loads quickly yet still provides all of the power behind the Internet website's real estate search engine.
