Ecommerce Transformation

Last winter we were approached by Davis Manufacturing to help upgrade their ecommerce website. Originally built in the early 2000′s, the site reflected both the style and functionality of the time and in recognizing the need to remain competitive, the client invited us to handle the website makeover.

Challenge

Manufacturers of professional-grade pet care supplies, Davis Manufacturing offers over 600 products to veterinarians, groomers and pet stores. The company’s original website required extensive customization to support wholesale ecommerce and the variety of business rules needed to manage their complex product lines. These circumstances created the need for a smart, robust shopping cart script to not just replace the old system, but to bring it up to 2011 ecommerce standards.

Solution

After taking stock of the clients’ overall needs, Southern Web Group identified the LemonStand as an ideal ecommerce platform. Its ability to handle the complex shipping policies, bulk purchase pricing, and mix and match order interfaces desired by the client without customization made it a perfect solution to the challenges presented by this system.
