The Atlanta Heart Group is a cardiology practice with offices in Decatur and Lithonia, Georgia. The practice’s four Board-certified cardiologists have long offered state-of-the-art treatment for thousands of patients.
We were contacted by the client to develop a first-class website to begin marketing the cardiology practice online. The client wanted to present profiles of each of the practice’s physicians, showcase the services and accomplishments of the practice, offer directions, forms, and obtain high rankings in the search engines for a number of key search terms. In addition, the physicians wanted to be able to maintain the website without the assistance of a web designer.
As content management systems have truly developed into a necessity for the modern practice manager, it was important that we implement an easy-to-use system so that both the cardiologists, the practice manager and the office staff could maintain the website from multiple computers. By taking advantage of the latest version of WordPress, a simple-to-use content management system, we were able to address each of the client’s concerns about keeping the website updated.
A key advantage to the use of WordPress is that it addresses over 80% of the search engine optimization concerns, according to a technology director at Google. As pages are built using the interface, WordPress notifies the various search engines that the website has been updated in order to expedite indexing of the client’s website.
Although the WordPress had its start as a blogging platform, it has grown into a robust content management system. The entire site can be edited from within the WordPress control panel giving the client ultimate control and flexibility.
Thanks to the search-engine friendly pages that are automatically created by WordPress, the client now enjoys first-page ranking on over a dozen search terms that are crucial to the visibility and success of the practice.
