SWG Launches Partnership With Oodle

As the real estate market has changed over the past year, many clients have asked how to generate more leads online. Our IDX provider, iHomefinder, has partnered with Oodle and Lycos to provide leads on your listings. FMLS has recently approved agents to post their listings automatically to Oodle and Lycos.

What is Oodle? Oodle is a paid classified Website, similar to Craigslist. Over 1 million people searched Oodle real estate last month. Oodle’s results are used in Lycos, newspapers, and eBay. You can find out more about Oodle at www.oodle.com.

How much does it cost to put your listings on Oodle? There’s no charge to distribute your listings to Oodle. The only charge is when you receive a buyer lead. Each buyer lead is $15 and you only pay when you receive a lead. There’s no contract, so you can cancel when you have enough leads.

How do you get started? Like all things in real estate, there’s paperwork. Please contact us for more information.

One of the goals of our company is help you generate leads online. If you have any questions regarding this new program, please feel free to e-mail me at drew@southernwebgroup.com or call 404.848.9440.

Originality matters

Several clients called me in the last week to tell me that Craigslist, the popular bulletin board, had removed their posts from the bulletin board service.  As it turns out, a moderator from Craigslist removed the posts after it was noted that they were simply adding and re-posting the comments to the bulletin board without making significant changes to the content.

It’s considered spamming when you remove and repost the same content to a bulletin board and it’s understandable why services like Craigslist would block users from posting the same message over and over again.

The moral of the story is to be creative with your Craigslist posts.  While it’s important to keep your posts current, it’s also important to keep them fresh.
